CELEBRATING THE MUSIC OF GEORGE JONES
Join The Grand Tour as we pay tribute to the music of the late great king of country music, George Jones!
The Grand Tour takes you on a retrospective journey through the Ol’ Possum's career, for an electrifying evening of real country music, made famous by the king of country music, for fans of real country.
The show features George Jones’s most iconic hits, from “He Stopped Loving Her Today” and “I Don’t Need Your Rockin’ Chair” to “Who’s Gonna Fill Their Shoes”, “The Race Is On,” and “If Drinking Don’t Kill Me (Her Memory Will)”. The show ranges from the early Hank Williams-influenced Honky-Tonk recordings up through Jones’ "countrypolitan" era, including his chart-topping collaborations with fellow country music royalty.
The Grand Tour is led by frontman Larry Tobias, known for portraying George personally in the national tour of Stand By Your Man: The Tammy Wynette Story. When Tobias met George Jones, Jones told him, “I hear you do Jones better than I do Jones.” The band features a “who’s who” of professional New York City Broadway & session players, who bring an incredible chemistry and camaraderie to every show.
