Bernadett Nyari
HUNGARIAN VIOLINIST
Bernadett Nyari is an internationally acclaimed Hungarian violinist, and one of the most celebrated Hungarian musicians in America.
Following studies at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in Budapest and the University of the Performing Arts in Graz, Austria, Nyari made her U.S. debut at Carnegie Hall debut in 2023.
A versatile performer, Nyari blends Hungarian gypsy mystique with classical sophistication in her incredible live shows.
Hungarian Gypsy Meets Carnegie Hall
At her Carnegie Hall debut, Bernadett presented The Untold Melodies, a program featuring original classical music written by her grandfather, József Suha. Suha, an accomplished Hungarian composer who dreamed of performing in the United States, was never able to visit America due to political persecution under the Soviet Union.
When Bernadett fulfilled her and her grandfather’s dream of bringing his music to Carnegie Hall, it was a full-circle, dream come true moment. “The night before the concert, as we walked past Carnegie Hall, I saw the red carpet laid out for Lang Lang, the world’s most famous pianist. Then I saw my own poster on the building—and I burst into tears. On the left, my grandfather’s black-and-white portrait, standing before Budapest. On the right, my color portrait, standing before New York. The past and the present. At that moment, I felt we had finally made it, together.”
As humble and personable as she is virtuosic, Nyari is also known for her appearances at the renowned Lisinski Concert Hall in April 2024—often called the “Croatian Carnegie Hall”—as well as major venues such as MTS Arena in Belgrade and the RAM Colosseum in Budapest.
In 2024, Nyari signed with Magneoton, Hungary’s leading record label, where she reached #1 on iTunes charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom, along with additional top positions on U.S. classical charts.
Equally at home in both contemporary / electronic music as in classical pieces, Nyari is known for her versatility, though in all styles she draws on her signature Hungarian gypsy influence. Her work has also been recognized with multiple honors, including Best Instrumental Album at the 2026 World Entertainment Awards, a Silver Award from the Global Music Awards, and titles such as Best Female Artist and Best Classical Artist.
Nyari was particularly thrilled to be awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit of Hungary in October 2024 in New York, a prestigious honor from the Hungarian government. Notably, she also performed at the Hungarian consulate in Florida, celebrating 100 years of relations between the United States and Hungary.
